Summer break

A reminder that school closes tomorrow at 12pm, for all, for our Summer holiday.  We would like to wish all our children, families, staff and parents a wonderful Summer break.  We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Tuesday, 20th August and hearing about your adventures.

Kit Car Completion

We are delighted to have been able to have a go in our go-kart build today.  The children involved had a great time, testing the kit car round the playground.  They have made a fabulous job of their build, learning various skills including those related to STEM careers as well as, problem solving, team work and sharing.  Well done all involved!

Art Work

Everyone was very impressed by the high standard of work on display at the Fayre on Saturday.  Art work that has not yet been purchased/paid for is still available.  Bring along your £2/£3 to Mrs Laird who has kept them safe in her office.  Work that is not purchased will be kept and displayed around the school.

Summer Fayre

Well the thunder signalled the opening of the Fayre at 2pm. With the second flash of lightening, we all moved inside. In true Glenurquhart style though, we still had a great time! On first count, we’ve made around £735. Thank you to all who came along.  We had a super turn out. Thanks also to all who helped set up and run stalls, organise the day and to the Thorp family and Mrs Cetiner for persevering with the BBQ in the thunder and lightening which of course, continued for the whole Fayre.

Pictures from the art show will be handed out on Monday for those that have been purchased. If you would still like yours, they can be purchased from Mrs Laird.

Art Show

Our art show is all set up and ready for the Fayre tomorrow.  Come along and purchase some beautiful art work.

P6/7 Football Success

The Glenurquhart P6 and P7 football team  have had a very successful year in both winter and summer leagues.  They have also made it to the semi final of the winter cup and also last Saturday the final of the MacArthur Cup which was a local event organised by Milton Athletic in Inverness.  The team played all of the other 5 teams and won all of the games except 1 which was a 1 nil loss to Thistle Colts.  They then had to play them in the final as we were the 2 teams with the most points overall.  It was 1 each at full time so they played 7 minutes extra time and unfortunately Thistle Colts scored.  Overall score was 2-1 to Thistle Colts.   Players did all receive runner up medals though and they should be very proud of themselves.

Eco Green Flag

We are delighted to end the year with the news that we have received our first Eco Green Flag award.  A huge well done to all classes and thank you Mrs MacVicar and Miss MacLennan who led this area this year and Miss MacDonald who has led it in previous years.
